Regions' top training achievers crowned!

Queensland regions' best and brightest in training were crowned on Friday (11 September) in the 2020 Queensland Training Awards.

Regional winners were announced as part of the multicast of seven regional award premieres —
available to view on-demand now — and will progress to the state final at 11am this Friday.

Hundreds tuned in to watch Friday's multicast, celebrating the strength and diversity of vocational education and training (VET) throughout our regions.

Across 11 categories, the regional awards celebrate excellence in VET by apprentices, trainees, students, teachers and trainers, employers and community organisations.

Qualified barber Jabin Giblett (right) was among four dual award winners, taking out Metropolitan Apprentice and Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year awards, while further
north TAFE Queensland lead teacher Sue Edwards (right, below)
was awarded for her commitment to training future nurses in
Tropical North Queensland.
