If you found you aren't eligible to nominate for the 2024 Queensland Training Awards there are still some options available to you.
1. Encourage anyone in your network who you think should consider nominating to check their eligibility and get cracking if they want to be in the running this year.
2. Complete our Expression of Interest form if you will be eligible to nominate in a future year. This way our regional coordinators can reach out to you when nominations open for next year's awards.
3. Check the direct-entry categories on the Australian Training Awards website. Nominations for these five awards, which are only contested at the national level, aren't open yet. You can either register for Australian Training Awards updates or we will give them a plug when they are open. There were some great Queenslanders nominated for these awards last year:
- Outstanding Achievement in the VET and Skills Sector Award
- Innovation in VET Award (2023 Gold medallist from Queensland, Bradford Institute of Advanced Education - Roper Gulf Certificate III Project)
- Australian Apprenticeships Employer Award
- School Pathways to VET Award (2023 Gold medallist from Queensland, St James College)
- Excellence in Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practice Award (2023 finalist from Queensland, Kelly Barron).
4. Look out for updates on regional finalists from your area or skills sector and give them a cheer on social media. If you can make it to a regional final they are a great night to mix with others and cheer for all the finalists.
5. Keep going on your training journey! The new skills gained and career options opened up are exceptional rewards.
